Three Graces, Michael Parkes, 2000 & Three Graces, Peter Paul Rubens, 1638

The first work I ever bought was a version of The Three Graces, which has been done by a million people in a million different forms. The Parkes piece, the first, is a contemporary painting I bought a few years ago and now hangs in my London flat. The Ruben, the second, is the most famous rendering in history, I think, and is usually found in either the Louvre or the Ufizi. I'm not sure what it is about the Graces that pleases me so much, but I've bought probably twenty different renderings in several different formats over my lifetime, and they never seem aged or dull to me. Anyway. Pretty.
